FAF Organising Collective (FAFOC)

The role of the organising collective is:
  • to network with other feminist activist and history groups
  •  to publicise the work of the Feminist Activist Forum and deal with media inquiries
  • to evaluate, develop and strengthen the group's working practices (in line with the stated ethos and mission statement)
  • to approve budget
  • to answer emails and maintain the website
  • to initiate projects, events and training days
  • to focus on building intergenerational connections.
FAFOC will constantly feedback to the main list/newsletter. All strategies and policies initiated through FAFOC need to be discussed, and consensus reached, at national meetings to take effect.

FAFOC is open to all- you just need to be in agreement with FAF's founding principles and to commit to a shared work load (including regular emails and occassional meetings/telephone conferencing). The membership of FAFOC will constantly shift according to the time that members can give.

Applications to join the organising collective can be sent to mail@feministactivistforum.org.uk - please let us know a little bit about yourself, why you would like to join FAFOC and what skills you can bring.

If you are interested in helping with the logistics and development of FAF but perhaps don't have the time to commit to FAFOC, then we are also looking for people to act as 'advisory members' to FAFOC. This means that we will send you occassional emails asking for advice on issues such as FAF policy, working practices, conflict resolution strategies and new projects.

We are also looking for more partners to host joint events and projects with. See below.

Current FAFOC Members / Location / Affiliations

It was decided at the 7/06/08 national meeting that FAFOC member's names would not be listed on this site for security reasons. For transparency, we wanted to include where the members are based (London, Cardiff and Clacton) and what affiliations they bring to FAFOC:

Girls Rock!UK; Blackfist; Queer Union, NUT Rep, The Radical Activism Visual Archive Project; Feminist Media Action Network; Fag Club; No Borders.

Current Advisory Panel

Advisors currently include activists from The Feminist Library (London) and the Lambeth Young Women's Project (London).
