Members of the Feminist Activist Forum hope to work in coalition
with other activists and groups in planning and delivering a series of resources & discussions around disability issues in feminist, queer and diy communities. The impetus for this action came out of issues raised by disabled participants at the July 2008 Trans Learning Exchange, and also as a response to the lack of recognition given to the politics of disability, past and present.

Proposal
- To create a resource pack entitled disability in d.i.y contexts for feminist and queer groups. This pack would cover accessibility information for event organizers, including: a glossary; information about support networks; and general practical advice. This resource pack would also accompany a workshop.
- By 'd.i.y contexts' we refer to low budget situations that necessitate getting together to learn how to support each other as a community through skill and knowledge sharing in relation to disability (and other of course!) issues.
- The resource pack would be further available as a power-point presentation to be downloaded from the FAF website and used in different community settings. Workshops will also be recorded.
- We would also like to produce a zine, and accompanying discussion workshops, on themes such as:
- invisible disabilities
- feminism & ableism
- ableist language and rhetoric
- history of disabled women's involvement in the feminist movement
- what is ableism?
- disability and class
- trans & disability
- race & disability
- other topics, as suggested by participants
