OWAAD conferences (Organisation for Women of African and Asian Descent)
OWAAD was set up in 1978 to bring together Black and Asian women across the UK. They held their first conference in 1979. It was a groundbreaking umbrella organisation which spawned many local black women's groups.
Housewives in Dialogue conferences
Housewives in Dialogue is the umbrella group for the Wages for Housework campaign (set up in 1975), English Collective of Prostitutes, Black Women for Wages for Housework and other groups which used to be based at the Kings Cross Women's Centre (now at the Crossroads Women's Centre in Kentish Town)
